Lawry's Easter Promotion
Lawry's The Prime Rib aligns itself with a stable of high-end international retailers at the newly revived Mandarin Gallery shopping mall. Opening on 15 January 2010, the new premises sets a milestone in Lawry's history by weaving modern sophistication into its tradition of fine dining.

Lawry's first began serving prime beef ribs in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, in 1938. Built on a custom of serving the premium beef ribs at Sunday family dinners, the American fine dining restaurant has since expanded to include four restaurants in North America, restaurants in Tokyo, Osaka, Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai and an outlet in Singapore that opened in 1999. 10 years down the road, Lawry's Singapore has created a new look that heralds its renaissance as a premier dining venue for any occasion.

Upon 6,500 square feet of prime retail space, with a seating capacity of 170, the new Lawry's exudes an air of opulence with its sleek interpretations of luxury. Sitting on the fourth floor of the Mandarin Gallery, guests at the new restaurant will be treated to sweeping views of Orchard Road through 4-metre high floor-to-ceiling windows. A contemporary mix of brown, gold and champagne hues aims to appeal to the tastes of a clientele that is both affluent and well-heeled. Artfully divided, the premises include a Grand Bar, Main Dining Hall, All-Day Dining Room and five Private Dining Rooms.

For the first time in Singapore, Lawry's guests will have a chic corner to wet their whistles. Welcoming guests at the entrance of Lawry's is the Grand Bar with a state-of-the-art 3.6-metre wine chiller that holds up to 500 bottles of wine. Next to the bar, the All-Day Dining Room provides a sanctuary of respite for guests who stop in for afternoon-tea. In addition to its chic new ambience, patrons can also look forward to a new afternoon-tea menu, available from 2.30pm to 5pm.
The Main Dining Hall enthrals with decor that's lavish yet contemporary. Laid down upon cherry-walnut parquet floors, fully customised designer wool carpets add a touch of elegance and prestige. Sparing no detail, even the floral design of these carpets is bespoke. Carefully positioned to create the ideal ambience, alabaster pendant lamps have been custom designed so that they are a sight to behold when the sun goes down and are just as captivating in the day.
Hidden away from the crowd, the five Private Dining Rooms—Tanglin, Nassim, Orchard, Scotts and Grange —offer areas of exclusivity. Each room has been designed with tailor-made plush wool carpets, customised crystal chandeliers and made-to-order dining chairs. The practice of suspending classic oil paintings continues, albeit in rooms that display present-day sophistication. With complimentary wireless Internet access, the Private Dining Rooms may even serve as meeting rooms away from the office. Designed to be modular, flexible fittings allow the Private Dining Rooms to be easily configured to accommodate parties of 10 or more.
With its new facade, Lawry's Singapore carries forth a culinary experience steeped in heritage. Less than five percent of all beef sold in America meets Lawry's strict standards, yet the top grade beef that is served is of the same quality today as it was when the restaurant first started. Each standing rib roast is aged for up to 21 days to heighten tenderness, then slowly roasted on beds of rock salt to force the juices inwards and ensure uniformly juicy, flavourful meat.
The tradition of Lawry's Yorkshire pudding baked in individual copper skillets, tableside spinning bowl salad, baked Idaho russet potatoes cooked in hearth ovens and signature prime beef ribs served from Silver Carts will continue; and guests can expect the familiar impeccable standards of service that have made Lawry's synonymous with the finer things in life.
To commemorate Lawry's new home in the Mandarin Gallery, Chef Nick Lee has created a list of new entrees for the lunch, afternoon tea and dinner menu. With a wealth of old-world dining extravagance in a spectacular new-world ambience, Lawry's is ready to begin a new chapter in exceptional dining experiences.
