Top of the list for those who know their food is Gunther's. Named for the chef who envisaged this chic little paradise of fine French dining, Gunther's has that rare and desirable quality of having the personality of the chef himself translate into every part of the meal.

| Born in Belgium and trained at the Bruges Culinary Institute, chef Gunther Hubrechsen went on to earn his stripes at the famous Paris eatery, L'Arpège, a three-star Michelin establishment. Since, he has been involved in cementing the international reputations of other great eateries, but it was his dream to have his very own place where his much developed culinary idiosyncrasy would have the chance to express itself. It didn't take long for Gunther to find the perfect venue on the city's prestigious Purvis Street.

Inspired to create a completely harmonious place where every sense would be served, Gunther's is a beautifully designed modern eatery, referencing the classic elegance and luxury of the art-nouveau movement while bringing it effortlessly into the contemporary arena.

|
| This allusion to classic art revised to appease the contemporary eye is no accident. It reflects the chef's personal approach to cooking, an approach to fine French dining which speaks of the highly skilled ability to make the simplest of flavours work together in magical harmony.

| Those expecting frills and embellishment will be disappointed. Where some chefs might take the easy route by masking a less than perfect skill with too many flavours and occlusive sauces, Gunther believes in the fine art of using perfect ingredients and cooking them to get the most from them. This allows individual flavours to be realized naturally, sometimes on their own and sometimes in harmony with others. A talent which can be likened to that of a great musician who hits the pure notes and has no need to embellish. Taking his cue from classic French cuisine, the discerning gourmet will find many allusions to the traditional recipes and flavors, which is not say that is all they’ll find.

Gunther's modern French cuisine is an art form. A fact which has been attested to by the many accolades and awards which this special eatery has received in its relatively short period of opening. From two separate bodies, in 2007 and 2008, Gunther's won awards for being the Best Singapore Restaurant in the 'New' category. The first award coming from the acclaimed Tatler publication while the other coming from the more specialized Wine & Dine publication.
This reputation continues to grow and Gunther's is fast becoming one of the main attractions for those hungry gourmets who are looking for the next magical morsel to reward and delight.
